Puddleduck Maine Coons is a small, in home cattery. For the most part, cats and kittens have free run of the house. In any cattery, sometimes cats have to be kept separate. For instance, when we need males to be kept separate from females, or when a cat needs to be isolated due to illness or stress, or kittens for the first several weeks of life. During these times, cats may be confined to one of several areas. The smallest of these areas are good sized rooms (bedrooms actually), complete with cats structures, windows, and lots of cat toys. These rooms have the added bonus of humans to snuggle with at night. Except in the rare case of illness, or new kittens, all cats are allowed free run of the main household for much of the day.
We also have a small section of the back garden completely enclosed for the cat's enjoyment, and they have free access to this area during daylight hours.
We welcome any questions that you might have concerning our cattery management. Also, we encourage anyone considering purchasing a Maine Coon to visit our home, meet with our cats and discover if a Maine Coon is really the perfect cat for your life style.
March 23, 2010 - We are taking an extended break from breeding. All of our breeding cats have been neutered.

February 20th, 2006 - We have decided to scale back our breeding program for the next few years. Most of our cats will be altered over the next few months as difficult decisions are made. These cats will be available to the right homes. Most of these cats have been with us many years and require extra special people, local to the Ottawa area, for homes. If you think that you might qualify, please feel free to contact us at Puddleduck Maine Coons.

August 1, 2005 - Puddleduck's Flame Dancer has become a Mother again, this time of 3 beautiful females born on July 22. Since this was an unplanned litter, identity of the Father will have to be confirmed by DNA testing when the kittens are a little older. But we suspect that Puddleduck Phantom Evil King has lived up to his name!
July 18, 2005 - We just received notice that our lovely Phantom is a TICA International Colour Winner!

July 14, 2005 - On June 29th, Puddleduck's Little Puff became a Mother for the first (and last) time at nearly 5 years of age. We're calling this our miracle litter. Proud Father is Tipsntufts Zodiac of Puddleduck. Little Puff had three beautiful boys, 2 brown classic and one red classic.
We're making some changes here at Puddleduck. Puddleduck's Little Puff, Kerakterkatz Ruby of Puddleduck, and Wabanaki Nova of Puddleduck are being retired. We've also made the sad and difficult decision to neuter our beautiful boy, Tipsntufts Zodiac of Puddleduck. Zack has the unfortunate combination of hyper hormones and super high need for human affection, that makes keeping him as a stud cat, difficult and, we felt, unfair for Zack. Zack needs more then anything, to be a dedicated, giant lap cat. Giving Zack the attention he requires has been difficult considering his unfortunate personal hygiene habits as a whole male.
We have added Puddleduck's Cordelia (Puddleduck Flame Dancer x Tipsntufts Zodiac) and Puddleduck Kitsune (Luvpaws Poltergeist of Puddleduck x Lacocoon Sakura of Puddleduck) to our breeding program as potential queens.
May 24th, 2005 - Updated kitten photos! See the Current Litter page.

February 3rd, 2005 - We'd like to announce the arrival of a new girl to our home. Kerakterkatz Ruby of Puddleduck is a lovely smoke tortie and we can't thank Ted Kereluk of Kerakterkatz Maine Coons enough, both for letting us have this sweet little wild cat, but also for his friendship.
